Wedding Venue FAQs

How do we arrange to visit?

To arrange a visit, you can visit our book a visit page on our website and select a suitable date and time using our visit calendar. Alternatively, if you want to speak to our team directly, call 01403 900606.

How much is it to secure a date?

Your initial payment is £750 of your venue hire fee plus your initial catering payment of £750 + VAT.

How do we book?

Once you have been to visit, you will you will receive log on details to our booking portal via email. Remember to book your registrar or church, details of which are found in these questions.

What are your prices?

What is your closing time?

Last orders will be called at 11:15 pm, and music will wind down at 11:30 pm. The bar will also close at 11.30 pm. The venue closes at midnight, and we ask that all guests who aren’t staying the night have pre-booked taxis to collect them by midnight.

Which local registry office do I book my ceremony with?

You will need to contact the local registrar to inform them of your chosen venue, your wedding date and preferred time.

Where is the nearest church?

The closest church to Brookfield Barn is Holy Trinity, Lower Beeding, which is a three-minute drive away.

You can use The Wedding Preparation Room before your wedding if you prefer a church wedding. Alternatively, you may choose to arrive at Brookfield Barn after your wedding ceremony.

What is your capacity for ceremonies, dining and evening receptions?

Ceremony – Both indoor and outdoor ceremonies can host up to 138

Dining – We can host 138 guests for a sit-down meal

Dancing – Our capacity for your evening reception is 200 guests

Accommodation – We have nine bedrooms plus the honeymoon suite, meaning we can accommodate up to 23 people in total. Each guest can also join us for breakfast in The Breakfast Room the next morning.

Do you have somewhere to get ready on the morning of the wedding?

Yes, we have The Wedding Preparation Room which includes hair and makeup stations and a comfortable seating area. This space is available from 9 am the morning of your wedding.

Can our dog come to our wedding?

We love (well-behaved) dogs and appreciate that they are a huge part of your family. They are welcome to join you for the ceremony and photographs, and we have dog-friendly bedroom. You must provide your own crate. If you wish to bring your dog(s) along, please ask to see our dog policy.

Is the venue accessible?

Brookfield Barn is wheelchair accessible. We have step-free access from the car park and a wheelchair lift in the venue. We also have a fully accessible bedroom (Saxony) for overnight guests.

Can we use our caterers?

A fantastic team of in-house chefs provide all of our catering. It is not possible to use your own caterers.

Do we need wedding insurance?

We strongly recommend that you take out wedding insurance. Weddings are a big investment, and fingers crossed that you’ll never need to call on your insurance, but having it in place will cover you for a range of eventualities.

Can we have candles at our wedding?

Some candles may be permitted at Brookfield Barn, however, they will need to be placed in suitable candle holders and approved by the events team. Battery operated candles and fairy lights are also a great alternative. Please speak to your event manager for further information.

Can we have confetti at the wedding?

Yes, but we only permit real petal confetti and for it to be thrown outside.

Do you have a photo booth onsite?

Yes! We have our very own photo booth at Brookfield Barn which you can use on your wedding day. There are two different packages available, as well as the option to personalise your prints, all of which can be booked through our Events Team (get in touch for more info).

Is there a PA system for the speeches?

Yes, we provide 2 microphones in the barn connected to the speakers and the web stream for optimal audio throughout the room.

Can we play music through the PA system?

Yes, we have an integrated music and PA system throughout the barn, bar and another in the outside ceremony area. During the welcome drinks and wedding breakfast, you can supply us with your own playlists to have on in the background.

Is there a noise limit?

No, both bands and DJs are able to play in the barn and there is no sound limiter in place. That said we recommend them playing around 96 dcb to maintain a comfortable atmosphere without the music becoming overly loud.

Can we use glitter?

Unfortunately we cannot accommodate any glitter or gem make-up stations or activities indoors or outdoors, due to our lakeside location.

Can we have sky lanterns?

Unfortunately, lanterns are not permitted.

Can we have fireworks at our wedding?

Unfortunately, fireworks are not permitted.

Can we have sparklers?

Yes, we allow sparklers. Please speak with our Events Team for more information on this.

Event Venue FAQs

Can you host private events other than weddings?

Yes! We can and do host many different types of events and celebrations, such as gala dinners, product launches, Christmas parties and many more. The best way to find out more about hosting an event here is by visiting our website’s events page or contacting the team directly at 01403 900606.

How do we arrange to visit to discuss our event?

Call us on 01403 900606, and we will arrange for you to come and see Brookfield Barn in person.

How much does hiring Brookfield Barn for a private event cost?

Every event we host here is unique, so we do not have a standard pricing package. Instead, we speak with you directly to create a bespoke package that suits you and your event.

What is your capacity?

This will vary depending on your event type, but our maximum capacity is 200 guests.

Can we use our own caterers?

We do not allow outside caterers at Brookfield Barn. However, we are more than happy to work with you to create a bespoke menu that perfectly fits your vision.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes, we are wheelchair accessible, and we have an accessible bedroom (Saxony) for overnight guests.

Is the venue exclusive use only?

Yes, all events have exclusive use of the venue.

Can we use our own suppliers?

Yes, we are happy for you to use your own suppliers for everything apart from catering and drinks.

Food & Drink FAQs

Who provides the catering?

All catering is provided by Brookfield Barn’s onsite team of chefs.

Do you have prices and an example menu?

Yes, please see here here for example menus and prices for wedding food. Events food and pricing will be bespoke to your package.

Are we able to create our own menu?

Our chefs love working with you to create your own menu if you would like something a little different from our packages.

Can we bring our own food & drink to the venue?

It is not possible to bring any food and drink into the venue other than a wedding or celebration cake, confectionery (which must be in the original sealed containers in which they were purchased), and edible favours with allergens clearly labelled. Please speak with our team if you need any further clarification.

Our guests have allergies; how do we inform the team?

Please speak to our Events Team about any allergies or dietary requirements you or your guests may have during your meetings in the lead-up to the event.

Do you offer vegan & vegetarian options?

Yes, we have a delicious range of vegan and vegetarian options.

Are we able to create bespoke cocktails?

You can work with our bar team to create bespoke cocktails for your wedding or event.

Can we pre-order food and drink for the morning of the wedding or event?

Yes! We have a range of delicious grazing boards available to enjoy while you get ready in The Wedding Preparation Room. We can also provide bottles of Champagne or prosecco for your wedding morning celebrations. Please speak to the events team for more information.

What sort of drinks are available to purchase on our wedding day?

We have a selection of premium spirits, cocktails and luxury coffees available. Please speak to our events team for more detailed information.

Guest & Accommodation FAQs

How do we get to the venue?

Brookfield Barn is located on Winterpit Lane, Lower Beeding, Horsham. Our post code is RH13 6LY

Is there parking, and can cars be left overnight?

We have 50 spaces in our car park, plus an overflow car park. Cars can be left overnight but must be collected by 10 am the next day. All cars are left at the owner’s own risk.

Last orders will be called at 11:15 pm, and music will wind down at 11:30 pm. The bar will also close at 11.30 pm. The venue closes at midnight, and we ask that all guests who aren’t staying the night have pre-booked taxis to collect them by midnight.

Is there somewhere to purchase a drink ahead of the wedding or event when we arrive?

Our bar is usually open ahead of a wedding ceremony. Please note that the bar closes 30 minutes before the start of the ceremony. Please speak to the wedding couple about the exact timings of the day.

If you are attending another type of event, please speak to the event organiser to find out when the bar will open.

Can I purchase a gift for the couple for their wedding day?

Absolutely! If you want to purchase one of our products as a gift for the happy couple, we can arrange this for you. Please contact us at 01403 900606.

How many bedrooms are there?

Brookfield Barn has nine bedrooms plus the honeymoon suite. All accommodation is exclusive to those attending the wedding or event. Brookfield Barn can accommodate up to 23 people in total. View our accommodation breakdown here.

How do we book the accommodation?

Once you have booked your wedding or event date, we will share a link to the website and a secret code with you, which will unlock the bedrooms for the night of your wedding or event. You can then book the rooms you want and then share the code with your guests to reserve their rooms.

Can we stay the night before a wedding or event?

This may be possible if we do not have an event booking the day before. We can confirm this closer to the wedding or event date.

We will release the night before the wedding date four months prior. Please note that we require a minimum of five bedrooms to be booked. We can open the bar and offer a meal if desired for night-before stays.

What time is check-in?

The Honeymoon suite is available from 12 pm.
Guests can check in to their bedrooms from 3.30 pm.

What time is checkout?

We ask that all guests check out by 10 am.

Can we have a late checkout?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer a late checkout. We stipulate this time to enable us to prepare the venue for the next wedding or event.

Is the venue accessible?

Brookfield Barn is wheelchair accessible, and we have an accessible bedroom (Saxony).

Is breakfast included in the room rate?

Yes, all bedroom prices include breakfast.

Can I allocate rooms to my guests?

Yes, once you have booked your wedding date you will be able to allocate them to your guests.

Are all bedrooms en-suite?

Yes, all bedrooms are en-suite.

Do the bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities?

Yes, tea and coffee making facilities are available in all rooms.

Do you have hairdryers and ironing boards we can use?

We have a few of each available. Please ask when you arrive.

What time is breakfast?

We’ll serve breakfast for you and your guests between 8.00am and 9.00am in the bar area. If you or your guests have any dietary requirements, please let us know beforehand.

Can more guests join us for breakfast?

We can only accommodate our overnight guests for breakfast.

Do you have travel cots or any other baby facilities?

Yes, there are two room’s with fixed cots, Gadwall & Appleyard, we have one travel cot that can be set up in Saxony or Pochard.

Are dogs allowed in the accommodation?

Yes, we love (well behaved) dogs. We have one dog friendly room which is on the ground floor, room, Saxony.
