Extend your celebrations at Brookfield Barn: Things to do in West Sussex and beyond

Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life, so why not make the most of it by extending the celebration?

At Brookfield Barn, we’re all about creating unforgettable experiences, and we know that one day in our beautiful countryside venue just isn’t enough.

That’s why we’ve introduced two-day weddings at Brookfield Barn! With our 2025 offer, you can now stay the night before your wedding without any extra venue hire fee*! It’s the perfect opportunity to gather your loved ones and immerse yourself in the tranquillity of Brookfield Barn for a little while longer.

We’ve put together a list of things to do in and around Horsham, as well as some further afield, so you can get the most out of your extended stay at Brookfield Barn.

Things to do in Horsham

Brookfield Barn is nestled in the peaceful countryside just outside the historic market town of Horsham. If you’re planning two or more days of festivities, there’s plenty to see and do nearby.

1. Horsham markets

Horsham still holds regular markets that are well worth a visit. Whether you’re after fresh produce, crafts, or quirky gifts, you’ll find plenty of local treasures here. Check out the schedule of markets to see what’s on during your stay: Horsham Markets.

2. Horsham Museum and Art Gallery

Horsham Museum is a must-see for history and art lovers and is housed in a beautiful medieval timber-framed building. With over 26 galleries, it’s packed with fascinating exhibits, from local history to contemporary art.

3. Horsham Park

For a relaxing stroll, head to Horsham Park. Wander through the Sensory Garden or Human Nature Garden, grab a coffee at one of the cafes, or enjoy some fresh air on the tennis courts. If you’re a runner, don’t miss the Horsham parkrun on Saturday mornings during the summer!

4. Warnham Nature Reserve

Just a mile from Horsham, Warnham Nature Reserve offers 92 acres of serene wildlife habitats. Spot grey herons, kingfishers, and butterflies while walking around the stunning Warnham Millpond. The reserve’s visitor centre and café, Heron’s Rest, are perfect for a peaceful break.

4. Knepp Estate

For something truly unique, visit the Knepp Estate, a 3,500-acre rewilding project just outside Horsham. Take one of the footpaths through the estate and keep an eye out for wildlife like deer, pigs, and storks.

Dining in and around Horsham

If you’re looking to extend your celebrations further, it may be possible to host a leisurely next-day lunch at Brookfield Barn. We can create a bespoke menu just for you, allowing you and your guests to savour the final moments of your celebration.

If you or your guests also plan on venturing into Horsham for a meal, you’ll be spoilt by choice! Horsham has a number of fantastic options that cater to a variety of tastes. Here are a few of our favourites:
